I have a cat that needs to be shaved.. he is a long hair black and white and I have asked many vets if it would irritate the cat in any way and they said no.. So if there is an affordable cat groomer our ALLERGIES would love to find them... Thanks

Thank you Peaches for the concern for my pussy but I can assure you he is in no way harmed and really does quite enjoy having his fur trimmed short though not the process. Originally I took him to a groomers making sure to find one that did not use anesthetics. The last time I took him to the groomer they charged $110.00 and after having done it myself for the past few years the groomers really earned their pay. He does not like the process at all, that is true. There is a lot of hissing, pissing, and pooing during the process but he has never scratched or bitten me and once it is finished he prances around showing everybody his new look. Odo is my wife's  and I can tell you honestly I really do wish she would start shaving her own pussy.

I grew up w/ Persians, shaving them is almost a requirement.  Yes, even with regular groomings monthly and brushing daily.  Our cats LOVED it.  We did it around May each year so they would stay cool during the summer (but don't let them outside during the peak hours of the day for a week or so until their fur grows back a little because they could get sunburned).  Any groomer can do this (and I believe most vets will too), but ask other owners who they recommend to find someone good. 

We had a Great Pyrenees, and we decided to do the same thing to her and she would trot around the neighborhood showing off her haircut.  I think all animals are different, some like it, some not.  But it's not cruel.

It's so weird.  I read the thread title, and entered expecting to find something other than cat shaving talk.  I'm pretty sure there is some irony or euphemistic material going on here...  I'll get to the front bottom of this soon.
