Closing for Snow
« on: February 11, 2010, 09:54:43 AM »
I'm wondering why my kid had to go to school in the first place...
Now we get a call saying schools are closing at 12:30pm.

because  if they make it to 10 then the kids are counted present, counts as a full day with the state and there is no make up day later in the year...think money

I went at 10:00 to go get my kids and the roads were not as bad as they were when I went to town earlier and skidded into highway 5. Earlier there was snow on the streets, now it is just mushy and wet. It will be worse tonight when the wet roads turn to ice.

Tomorrow will probably be the worst part of it.  Gonna go get all the errands done soon so we don't have to leave tomorrow.

Last time I checked, it was still a 2 hour delay (or 10am, depending on who you talk to) -- funny thing is that Dallas ISD is closed tomorrow - and that takes a minor miracle.

McKinney and Melissa are closed tomorrow, too.

Also once attendance is takin, the school distric gets credit from the state and receives funding for each student counted. I remember when I got sick in school and went to the nurses office, I sat for a while before my mom came and got me. Maybey because they didn't call till near attendance time ?

Confirmed here from reliable source.  No school at all in Anna tomorrow.
