Best Place To Eat In Anna?
« on: March 24, 2009, 12:01:27 PM »
I'm a bit of an instigator by nature...so as a Fat Man who LOVES to eat I gotta ask-

What's the best restaurant in Anna...and WHY?  Discuss...

Have you read through the business section?  If Yes, then you ARE an instigator.  Else, well I don't what the else statement should be

We love My Estrella.  Great food and a full bar.  Very inexpensive too.

Well, the best PLACE to eat in Anna is at my house.  ;D

I'm not sure I can get onboard with a "Best" Restaurant in Anna, though.

Italian Villa has great NYC style pizza exactly like I had on the East Coast - the kind you fold over on itself to eat.  They sell it by the slice too - which is unheard of here, but the norm there.  I also like that they have Kendall Jackson Chardonnay.

I don't have anything good to say about  My Estrella and their flour tortillas are no better than the ones you buy at Sam's Club.

Jury is still out on Crow's Cafe.  I'm not sure if we will ever go back to see if things improved.

Both donut places are REALLY good.

Since you are new to the area my suggestion would be Jalepeno Tree in McKinney as the best near Anna restaurant.  They have fresh handmade flour and corn tortillas and their chicken flautas are AWESOME.  My kids love going there because they chow on the tortillas and they have free soft serve ice cream.  We probably go there at least once a week.  It also has a full bar if that interests you.

I agree about the Jalapeno Tree, it really does have great food. I also love the mexican butter that comes with a order of fajitas and the green sauce. I would eat anything if it was covered in that green sauce.

Sometimes the ice cream at The Jalapeno tree is not very tasty. Scout can tell you all about that.

Yeah, J-Tree for Mexican every time.

I like Mama Mia's pizza, The Malt Shop has good drive-in burgers, Angel Wings is good if not a tad expensive....

Crow's gets my seal of approval - it's non-chain local comfort food.

While we're at it, I buy my liquor at Anna Fine Wine and Spirits and my kegs at Fossil Creek Liquor.

I love Jalapeno Tree and like how they have butter on every table but it's a little expensive compared to Jalapeno's on the 380 just east of Sam's Club in that little strip mall.

Angel Wings tastes great and they show UFC fights on PayPerView for free!!

Also when we first moved here, we discounted how close Sherman is.  There are a lot of restaurants up there without the traffic of McKinney.  Our family especially loves to go to the new Red Lobster there.

And the wait for a table is always short, if there is any wait at all.

I avoid driving to Sherman if at all possible.  I'll drive to Plano before I drive to Sherman.  I'll drive to Richardson before I'll drive to Sherman.

I will be in the minority in that we don't care for J Tree - we have found sticks and rocks in our food before as well as nasty silverware...We don't go out to eat anymore but when we did we went to Christina's in McKinney....

I don't mind the drive to Sherman at all except the road construction they have going on right now.
