Italian Villa of Anna, TX
« on: March 11, 2009, 05:17:16 PM »
Previously our  meal at the Italian Villa and was satisfactory.  Unfortunately, today we ordered a supreme pizza which was soggy and undercooked.  We called to request a replacement, and to say they were not receptive to that idea is stating it mildly.  However, with encouragement on our part, they reluctantly agreed.  To our disappointment, the second pizza, although cooked slightly more, was also extremely soggy.  In fact so soggy, it was soaking through the box.

Upon taking the pizza back and asking for a refund, we were again greeted with denials that there was anything wrong with the pizza, but did get a refund, reluctantly.  When the manager came on duty, he called and was very rude and expressed his displeasure at us!!

Hummm, let's see....We as consumers, love to complain, love to make three trips back to a vendor to get a pizza that is even slightly palatable, love to be treated as idiots, because after all, we really don't know how a pizza is suppose to be prepared or taste.

Believe me, we would not have said anything if this pizza was remotely edible, and had we been treated with more respect we would certainly return.  A trip to McKinney doesn't seem to far for a good meal at this point.

That's a shame.  Something has...shifted.  The customer is no longer right.  If I had to make a guess, its the new trend of entitlement.  That being said, we can only expect it to continue.

However, in these economic times, it seems a very dangerous game to play as a retailer.

I'm sorry you had this experience.  It makes me sad.  Sad for you, sad for Italian Villa and sad for our near future.

As someone recently told me regarding this type of behavior, "The chickens will come home to roost."

No, I don't know what that means.

This is Tony, the manager of Italian Villa that you talked to on the phone. I am surprised that you would write that about our conversation. I called to talk to an un happy customer and apologize for your dissatisfaction. Our number one goal is to have all of our customers leave satisfied, that may not always be possible, but we will do what we can to make that happen. The pizza that you received is made fresh from scratch. It had extra sauce and loaded with veggies, which will cause it to get a little soggy when its in a box for an extended period of time. Again, I apologized, gave you a full refund even made you a second pizza, but please dont say that we don't care about customer service because thats our number one priority. Any business with out it's loyal customers is just an empty building

Thank you for your input, sir!  Both sides of any story always help flesh out the whole.

Our idea of customer satisfaction is quite different.  Your tone when you called was very caustic and you were trying to convence us that it is normal for a pizza with additonal toppings to be soggy.  Yes, you did refund our money, with our emphatic encouragement.

However, our previous pizza with additional toppings was not soggy, nor have we ever had a pizza from any other establishment with extra toppings that was that soggy.

That being said, if your attitude and tone of voice not been so caustic, we would certainly have understood the differences of opinion and returned to your establishement.    Approach is everything!!

I have been making my pizza the same way for 17 years. Again, I apologize.

I had lunch at the Villa today and it was WONDERFUL!  I brought a business partner from out of town.  He was very pleased with lunch.

Thanks Tony for your support of our community.

margiear, sorry you had a bad experience.  I am sure that The Villa will do it's best to make your next trip a fantastic experience.

I met a group of local ladies there for dinner last night (check out http://www.meetup.com/anna-girls-day-out - i'm just saying), and it was really great!  I had the tortellini alfredo and the cappucino ice cream pie - yummy!  It was packed last night, and our waitress did a great job of handling such a large group!  The owner, Tony, came by to check on us a couple of times during the evening.  I hope it was because he was being friendly, and not to check on us because we were being too loud!   ;)

I will definitely be going back there to try their other dishes.  The Chicken Diana is next on my list!

My man and I like to go with our little kidlets. We order them a large cheese pizza and we get coffee. Then we get to talk because the kids have all that pizza to eat.

My family went yesterday around 5pm. We like getting there early, so we have the place to ourselves before the crowd comes in. The Chicken Alfredo was great. DH had their philly steak sandwich, and it was pretty darn good. That says a lot coming from a man who was born in Philly.
Ask me how I can help you feel your best.

We were there a couple of nights ago and the two dishes we had were fantastic!
I had the Veal Diane and my husband had the Chicken Maximo.
We shared both, had plenty to bring home, and were very satisfied.
Best Italian food ever?  Of course not, but most definitely, a GREAT place to have so close...

I have MANY wonderful things to say about Italian Villa!  Tony is an amazing person who has gone above and beyond.

Hubby and I ate there awhile back, and the food and service was absolutely incredible.  I have a Meetup group that I started back in November, and I named it "Anna Girls Day Out".  Once a month, we have a luncheon get together on a Saturday, and one Thursday evening a month, we have dinner out together.

We've had one luncheon at the Italian Villa, and this past Thursday evening, we had dinner there.  The ladies of my group LOVED it both times.  There will be many more Meetups at the Italian Villa, I can assure you of that.

Each time, I've informed Tony that we would be arriving on a certain date, at a certain time.  I always arrive 15 minutes early, and Tony has had the tables set and ready for all of us!  There's typically 12 to 15 of us, and the service and food are awesome!  Tony also takes the time to come to the table and welcome each and every lady, and to make certain that everything is perfect.

The ladies of Anna Girls Day Out LOVE you Tony!!!  Keep up the good work!!!  You're just what Anna needed!!!!!
