A new women's gym in Sherman has it's members breaking a sweat. Not because of the workouts, but because they worry it's going out of business and customers are not getting what their money's worth. KTEN's Deeda Payton has more.
Fit For Her opened business around the first of the year. It boasts a woman's only, 24-hour workout facility complete with tanning beds and a spa, but members say that is not what they are getting.
They say it just recently became 24-hour accessible. They say the tanning bed has been broken for weeks and the spa is non-existent. Right now, a sign on the gym door says they are closed because of electrical problems.
"It's just not what they told us it was going to be," said Lee Wyman, a gym member. "It's a project not finished and when they're turning off the electricity, how's it going to get finished?"
"My biggest complaint is you never know if you're going to come in to workout and the place is closed down," said Brenda Arzate, another gym member.
There is a sign on the door explaining that the gym is closed because the electricity is not working, but an employee told KTEN that is not the truth, saying the gym's management has not paid the electricity bill and has even been late paying employees.
We called Fit For Her, but our calls were unanswered. Their voicemail is full and the owner who also runs The Zoo Health Club in Anna did not return our calls.
