You've got it!  I haven't had a Philly Cheese Steak since I left Philly.  I wouldn't dare.

yeah, always sad to see a small local business bottom out, but I have to agree.
The wings there were mediocre at best, the owner was definitely NOT a people person, and her prices were OUTRAGOUS for what you got.
It was bound to happen.

Hopefully something much better will take over that spot cause the location was great.
Personally, I am waiting IMPATIENTLY for Subway to hurry upand open!!

We have a Subway in Melissa and Van Alstyne.  I want something we can't drive to in 5 minutes.

Just got back from a recent trip to Philly. I had an excellent cheese steak the last day there. Also had a hoagie and some pizza pie. I hate that I left before making it to Termini's for some yummy cannolies. I think they ship FedEx, though. Mmmmmmm.

I've been told that it's all about the bread. When I've asked folks in Philly what makes the bread so special, they say "the watah" (water, for the PA-challenged)

I ordered assorted boneless wings for my birthday party back in January. While Angel Wings certainly isn't the best, they are far from being the worst. I ordered a couple more times from them for a nice weekend wing snack. There are a couple reasons I can cite for lack of business: 1) The wings were too heavy on the sauce. 2) The location is WAY too small, which kept me from ever wanting to "dine in". 3) The customer service wasn't rude, but not very good either. When I went there to pick up my birthday order, the lady working the counter was on the phone and didn't bother to say anything to me. I realize she was taking an order but good customer service dictates that you at least acknowledge your in-store patrons. Also, her personality was very dry and unappealing; didn't make me feel very welcome. I hate to see local businesses falter, but I'm not going to choose substandard products and services just to support our local economy.

Does anyone know how to make a TRUE, genuine Philly steak and where to get good quality meat? Now THAT would be an awesome restaurant idea.

There is a GREAT place for Philly CheeseSteak in Bedford.  I believe it's called Philly's.  Anyway, it's like a stand and all they do is make the best sandwiches.  You can get it with or without cheese of course, with or without grilled onions and mushrooms, and with or without your choice of sweet or hot peppers.  I like mine ALL THE WAY with everything.  They are about 8 inches long and delicious.  The bread is fresh and soft, but not too soft.  The meat is seasoned perfectly and while juicy, not too wet at all, and the topings are grilled perfectly.

Up until last month, I was working in Las Colinas and would drive on occassion to Bedford for these things, they are THAT good.
And before you ask, YES, I have had them in Philly.  Spent about 2 months in Philly a few summers ago and made my way around town, culinary style...mmmm...

Great, now I see a trip to Bedford in my near future. :P

Sorry, but I don't really have any desire to drive an hour away just for a sandwich unless that sandwich can sprout legs, hop up and do a tango with a pickle, and shit gold sesame seeds.
