Anna Glow Fest 2009

Friday May 22 - Monday May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend)
1201 N Powell Parkway (Open space north of Anna High School)
Hot Air Balloon Festival, Carnival and Vendors!
The admission is FREE you will only have to pay $15 to park.  We will begin selling weekend passes on or about April 1st at all Texas Star Bank locations and the Chamber office.  They will be $45 this will allow you entry into the event all weekend.
I will add specific times at a later time.

This event is going to be fantastic.  We will have 10 - 15 Hot Air Balloons, 15 Carnival rides, 15 games, 3 carnival food vendors, and other craft and service vendors! Each morning you can come out have some breakfast and watch the balloons fly just after sunrise and they will fly again just prior to sunset with a GLOW after dark.

Here are some of the things to look forward to:
Friday Night - Unveiling of our City's new brand This is an exciting time as our City Council has been working with professionals to create this new brand for Anna.  You will also have a chance this night to meet local and county government officials.  For those that attended last year's "Meet the City" this will be a MUCH LARGER version. There will be a balloon glow this night where you will be able to get right up to the balloons.

Saturday - Armed Forces Day
This day we will honor those that ensure our freedom!  We will have the American Fallen Soldiers group present a portrait to a family that has lost a family member serving our country.  To learn a bit more about this program visit http://www.americanfallensoldiers.com/
We will also have a balloon glow and FIREWORKS!

Sunday - Car Show and Bands
We will have several different bands as well as a car show.  There will of course be a flight and GLOW this evening as well.

Monday - Carnival Day
As of right now, we will have the carnival all day with the balloon flights and such throughout the day!

We have many opportunities for sponsorship as well as volunteers.  Give us a call at the Chamber Office if you have more questions or would like to get involved.  972-924-8533

I don't get excited about much, but I am really excited about this event!

We will definitely be there for most of it.

I really appreciate those who put this together  ;D

(P.S. That doesn't mean I want to volunteer  ;) )

I am glad that you are excited.  It is going to be a really great event for Anna.

I AM TICKLED PINK...... I can't wait for this Glow Fest. A perfect opportunity to let people know what a wonderful town Anna is.... I am so looking forward to this...

Maybe you could sell the city on allowing you to tattoo the new branding on your forehead in exchange for a reduction on property taxes.

I was thinking it'd just be on his forehead to allow for maximum exposure.

We have added an exciting addition to our event!

We will be offering tethered hot air balloon rides.  For those that are new to ballooning :) this is a ride in the balloon while it is tied down, so you will fly about 90 - 100 feet in the air!  It is a really cool thing.
