... and it ain't just a girl thing. A lot of our men are better bakers than we are. Wingnut has already said he is IN, and another guy neighbor is interested. LOL.
I have always wanted to do a Christmas Cookie exchange. If you are not familiar - this is how it works.
We find out how many people want to participate. That determines the number of dozens of cookies we all bake.
NOTE: Please do not bring store baked cookies. It defeats the purpose. If you want to buy cookie dough and bake them in your oven I don't think people would have a huge problem with that. People are still trying to get RBO's "secret" Tollhouse Cookie recipe from dough that is already portioned and ready to go in the oven, for example.
So 12 people = everyone makes 12 dozen of one type of cookies. You put them in 12 bags and bring 11 of them to the exchange. It takes about an hour for everyone to exchange and tip a glass - have a chat.
Then you trade your 11 dozen with the 11 other people so you end up with a good variety of 12 dozen cookies for the holidays.
If you want to participate -
1. Post that you are IN and what cookie you would like to make. Look at others posts and select a cookie that is different from those already chosen. I have to ask that they all be nut free cookies because there are SO many kids with nut allergies out there. And no one wants anypholactic shock for Christmas.
2. I'll post the total number of folks participating by Friday, December 7th. This will tell you how many dozen cookies you need to make, and allow you to find the most convenient time to make them.
3. Make your cookies, and I will PM you my house address info.
4. Show up to the exchange with a beverage, a smile, and your cookies.
I think Metamorph, Wingnut, Angi, and MOM are IN so far. All excellent cooks! I can't wait to see how many folks we get for this.
Best,
Daisy
