Decoupage
« on: May 21, 2010, 04:20:08 PM »
Does anyone know anything about decoupage?

I am building a woodworking project into which I'd like to inlay an image.  The problem is that the image, in order to look right, has to be perfect.  99.5% "right" isn't good enough.  Decoupage seems like it might be the answer.  Photographs are photo-realistic, innit?

Difficulty bonus:  The final finish needs to be Spar Urethane.

I bought one from a brother-in-law in 85'.  They are prone to electrical conditions.

Thanks - I still haven't tried it out - the project is on hold because I don't have a drill press.

I do have a metric ton of glue that's supposed to be appropriate for Decopague though, so if I do continue to work on it I can practice lots before trying it on a production project.

That could be fun for so many things.  (Like covering someone's entire house with.)  Wait a min, where do you store that much glue?!
