I got my pepper spray at Academy, they have a bunch of it right in front.  I have a big can and a pink key chain one. ;)

My Lab barks on command, so if I don't answer I make sure to quietly as her to bark.  It would have to be a ballsy person to come through the door after hearing her.  We have also stopped kenneling our dogs when we aren't home (which required some serious puppy proofing) so that they will be able to go to the window and show their giant stupid heads at any time.

Not that I would want it to happen to anybody, but she really is a sweetheart.  I'm just glad it ended in the manner it did.  During events like that, nearly anything can happen.  My wife has been under strict instructions to NEVER answer the door.  Even so, if someone barged in they would quickly be barging out when my dogs got after them.  Crime would drop considerably if every home had a protective 100+lb dog and a firearm or 2.  I'm always happy to read how many people on this forum are strapped and ready for whatever.

Well at least we all know that if we're going to break in to your house that we'll need to be strapped and ready to take out a 100+ lb dog.

Yep, we have both the dog (rottweiller 120 lbs) and the .40 caliber with hollow point bullets. And super good aim sometimes. Most of you know that anyway.

Unfortunately, while the rotttweiller appears to be an extremely threatening complication, I think he would rather lick someone to death. LOL

Between the sign, the dog and the gun - I guess we are safe. LOL Who knows?
