another question...what do we do with foil?..Is it recycable?  I hope they allow for errors in the beginning.  Plastic ketchup bottles and plastic mayo/mustard containers????...do they have to rinsed out too.  I know this is a good thing...but I'm just not excited about it.  Now I have to start thinking about my "Trash" of all things  ???

You don't have to remove labels. You do have to remove caps.

Rinse out anything that is going to go in there. Bottles, can, jars, plastic, glass.

I don't see anything about aluminum foil, but generally, if there is baked on foods: no it can't be. If the foil is "clean" of any food residue: yes.

Ok, so we take our time to do their job and we have to pay for it? I am already on someones payroll! Wonder who is getting the kickbacks cause you know someone is getting a nice slice of that pie! This is a 5 year contract we are stuck with. Trash company is making $$ on us and we are saving them a step. Sounds like it's a win-win for them. Plus having household garbage sit a week before it gets picked up again, yuk!

I think we should get a rebate on our bill per pound of aluminum recycled.  There's money to be made there.

Actually, I think I've just found a use for my old trash can.  I'll set it next to the recycle bin and put my cans in there.  When it fills up, I'll take it to the recycling place and cash in myself.

When this was discussed at the City Council meeting, I don't recall anyone standing up and asking any questions.  I have no doubt that I could be wrong though.  I may have been in a state of awe at Driskell's awesomeness....

I was there.  And you're right, I could've commented prior to having any information, but the perspective of that is two-fold.  One, the majority of the information revealed was after council discussion - when we cannot comment.  Two, with the little information I had prior to the meeting, I couldn't imagine any scenario in which the council would think this was a good idea - I could not have been more wrong.

I found the conclusions far-fetched and detached from reality.   Unfortunately, you can only speak on these things prior to the disclosure of the council's thoughts, which makes any reaction to the fantasy scenarios given ineffective as there is no forum for debate at that point.
