EDC Meeting 3/6

I have a question for you. This is has nothing to do about the  meeting I was wondering why we are allowing new comers to come into Anna and change it? Dont Get me wrong I like that Anna is growing but I thought people were moving  to Anna because of the close small town feel? We have people selecting which companies comes and making the companies that were already here move or close due to stupid rules. I have heard alot of bad talk about a preacher in anna that rather than be a good preacher he is all into casting the first stone at people. I am sadden to learn that Anna is being ran by people who all they care about are themselves and not what is good for anna. If  people do not like anna why dont they move out and go back from where they came from and leave us alone.  >:( >:( >:(

I have lived here all my life. I love the small town charm but it's not going to last. Change is coming no matter what. The people that I have spoken with are for new business and for the town growing, however they are for rejuvenating the old part of town which, lets face it, is in bad shape. Not all change is bad.

Yeah, you mean like the people in the old chamber, and who have been involved in city council forever, who make financial decisions for the city based on where they own land they want to sell to the city?

Confused, are you involved in the city planning?  Have you been involved in the past?  As soon as the first land owner sold off land to developers the city was headed for change.  If all the "oldtimers" didn't want change then they should have stood up and made their voice be heard back then.  It is too late now, the city has grown and will continue to grow and change.  The best thing that can happen now is for it to grow the right way, with controlled/planned growth.  The small town feel can stay, but change is coming.  There are a lot of "newcomers" who want to keep the small town feel.  I am one of them.  I plan on participating so that my voice will make a difference and my concerns can be heard.
