Fall Softball
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:31:50 PM »
Morris Swankey said we were having a fall softball league.  We registered a team and got a sponcer to get our uniforms ( a must have) and our game balls.  We were also told that we were to begin the first week in Sept and to have our shirts by then.  So we did just that.  I just got word ( not frm Swaynkey) that the league has been cancealed.  Mr. Swaynkey will not return phone calls and seems to be in a meeting 24-7.  As it stands at this point, I figure he owes us our 350 that he had to have to register us and 200.00 for shirts and balls that we were out.  Mr. Swaynkey, Let us play or cough up 550.00.  We would rather just play ball. >:(

Madashell, please specify. Co-ed or Mens? I too would love to know why they canceled the mens league, i hear there was more than sufficient interest.

I would also like to know if the co-ed was canceled as i had an interest in it as well (no Hodgepodge though, sadly, but another gathering of yahoos)

When I spoke to him last week (after the initial deadline had passed) there were only 3 teams registered.  There seems to be a great number of people who say they want to play, but not too many seem interested enough to actually register teams.

Maybe you should correct that to "didn't want to pay".  We had plenty of people interested but not enough willing/able to pay the $35 per player.  From my understanding the city was not going to cash checks until a league had been scheduled, are you sure that your check was cashed?

Madashell~ they have extended the sign-up date in MCKINNEY .  Adult softball registration has been extended through Saturday, September 18.  Teams may continue to register either in person at the McKinney Community Center or at the Carey Cox Memorial Offices.  Teams may also register by calling the athletic office at 972-547-2687 "ask for Mike".  You should just call him and tell him your situation with Anna,  and I'm sure he would sign yall up,  then when you get your dues back from Anna athletic office you can pay McKinney dues!
