Lift Station?
« on: April 07, 2009, 12:27:09 PM »
I've heard that a lift station is going in near Mantua Road. Is this correct? And if so, how is that going to affect home values?

Wouldn't it cause them to "rise"?

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

A significant problem many times with lift stations is odor generation. In addition to concerns for sewer personnel exposed to accumulated gases, sewer gases left to accumulate in air-tight environments can create additional toxic gases and underground potential for explosion, stagnation, and dead space in lines.

Yes, I would bet that if it smells it will not only affect your quality of life, but also reduce your property values.  Definitely would be a house you would want to sell in the winter if it becomes a problem.   8)

From what I have heard it is going in over by Hurricane Creek so hopefully it will be far enough away not to be an issue for Tara Farms...

Color me confused or sleep deprived. Where is hurricane Creek. Is that where the golf thing is?

I would hope it at Hurricane Creek. That is on the other side of 75. That would be better, of course.

Lift me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Lift me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high
Lift me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not plannin' on going solo
Lift me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight...
