Clear and to the point.  That's what I like about you.

Stalwart.  Resolute.  Perhaps a little lonely.  Introspective, but with an understanding of the cosmos which surrounds us - a part of something larger in the scheme of things.  A lone woman, pointing to her spirit babies in the heavens.   Hrm.  I like to think of the curly brackets as representative of a bash shell variable, acknowledging the technological microcosm we've become.  Ergo, to me, the new logo says, "We're like the Amish, but with computers.  Fear us."

this new logo is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen.  meaningless.  pointless (literally).  why the color change?  we have forever been purple and white.  this seems like an absolute waste of city money.  citizens of anna should have had a say in this.

To me, it says "Hey, look over there.  Is that Blue Ridge?"

"Ligon and Owens spent months learning about the town by
visiting historical landmarks and listening to residents, nonresidents, developers, school
board members, elected officials and local clergy talk about Anna’s past and their hopes
for its future. Out of this period of reflection and discovery came a clear sense that
Anna’s true nature and the authentic foundation for its brand was the town’s
commitment to remain a ‘hometown’—a place where longtime residents are honored and
new comers are welcomed. This fusion of old and new is evident in Anna’s new identity
mark or logo, a pioneer woman standing resolute on an open plain, pointing toward a
distant star."

Really?

we have a tremendous group of talented kids here at the high school....why wouldn't we start there?  it would mean alot more coming from "one of us"  and been a hell of alot cheaper.  I feel confident that one of my grandchildren could have done better than this.
what a disappointment.
what an embarrassment.
please tell me the logo stops at the web page.
please save us all the shame of having something like this on our police cars and such.
why is it blue and white?
you shouldn't have to tell a story to explain a logo.

pointless (literally).

Since Amish Computer Lady is indeed literally pointing at something (the lone star) I believe the word you were looking for is "figuratively."  From an existentialistic point of view she, as a representative of our City as a whole, is responsible for her (our) own choices.

I couldn't say about the color change.

my apologies for using the wrong word.
if she was pointing to the lone star....wouldn't she be pointing in the other direction?

yes, why blue??? should be Purple!! does this mean all those sports uniforms and buildings will now have to change to blue? why didn't we vote on this? is that not something we vote on anymore?
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice said. "Oh, you can't help that," The Cheshire cat said with a grin. "We're all mad here. You may have noticed I'm not all there myself..."

Color was not purple to begin with.  It was a blue 'A'.  Purple is related to AISD.  As different schools come on board and proclaim their own identities, purple and Anna will no longer be synonymous.  JMHO.
