Slayter Creek Park?
« on: September 24, 2008, 07:53:07 PM »
Does anyone have any info about this? I've been hearing about it for years...and I know they supposedly broke ground like a year ago. Just wondering, cause I haven't seen ANYTHING!

If you look over behind the high school you will see a pretty much completed park.  The ground breaking ceremony is g oing to be during the NNO event, held at the new park, on Oct 7th.

I've driven back there and walked around some.  It's going to cool when it is all finished.

So how much do you think it is going to cool? Will it be enough that I can open my windows and get a healthy dose of cold air in the afternoon? Will it have any impact on global warming?

Just some questions..  :P

Sorry. I could not help myself.

I've been watching them build this thing for the past year.  It's basically a few hundred yards behind my house.  I can't wait 'til it's done and me and the kiddo don't have to drive down to the Melissa park.  I really can't wait for the bike trails, though.  That's going to be so much fun!  Already looking on Craigslist for a bike trailer. :)

Ask Larry, so he can find another picnic table to sleep on.

Monster, this will be handled through the City.  I am not sure yet of the process.  I will report back as soon as I find something for you :)
