The City of Anna will be testing the storm sirens @ 12 noon on the first Wednesday of each month, weather permitting, beginning tomorrow, March 3.

You should really consider testing them on a day when most people are at home. Like McKinney, they test the first Saturday of the month at noon.

Or testing them in the middle of a calm night, so you have flashbacks of Korea, and fall out of bed in a blind panic searching for your MOPP gear so you can trudge two miles up a hill to secure yourself in a bunker after a night of drinking soju.

Or, you know, Saturdays are good I guess.

Really need to test it during a really bad storm.  That's when we need to make sure people can hear it.  Then use CodeRed to tell everyone you just tested the siren.  'If you did not hear the siren, please contact the city and report your location so we can better serve your area.'

I have nothing to do with the siren, other then posting this because it was sent to me!

we saw the signs around town, got emails about it, received phone calls about and even a text message about it. sirens on 1st weds is nothing new in North Texas, or so i thought from hearing them most of my life. they sure wanted to make sure Anna was ready. and i can certainly appreciate that.

good job Chief.
