The Anna City Council is asking citizens to become activity involved in City government by serving on a City Board or Commission. Board and Commission applications are accepted at any time throughout the year; however applications must be submitted by Friday June 6, for current year consideration. Appointments are made by the City Council in June of each year. The effective term begins in July for most new and re-appointed Board and Commission members. The terms for Community Development Corporation appointees begin in October.
Applicants must:
- Reside within the Anna city limits
- Be willing to attend the regular scheduled meetings of the Board or Commission
- Complete an official Board and Commission Candidate Application form on the reverse side and return it along with your current resume (if available) to:

- Meets quarterly on the Third Tuesday of March, June, September, and December; at 5:00 pm
- Identifies and funds community facilities and related projects to maintain and enhance the quality of life in Anna
Anna Economic Development Corporation- 5 members; two-year staggered terms
- First Friday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
- Leads, directs and coordinates the expansion of the city's business tax base and promotes job growth, thereby enhancing the quality of life for the citizens in Anna
Board of Adjustment- 5 members; two-year staggered terms
- Meets as needed
- Serves as an appeal body for individuals seeking variances to the Zoning Ordinance or to a decision made by an administrative official enforcing the ordinance
Park Board- 5 members; two-year staggered terms
- Third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
- Advises the City Council on park-related matters
Planning and Zoning Commission- 5 members; two-year staggered terms
- First Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
- Reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on subdivision plats, site plans, Zoning Ordinance amendments, Comprehensive Plan amendments, Specific Use permits and rezoning requests
Technology Advisory Committee- 5 members; two-year staggered terms
- Meets as needed
- Advises the Staff and City Council on information technology related issues
