One of my neighbors lets their 3 dogs out and they poop in my yard almost every day. I’m not a dog hater  but I wish they wouldn’t let their dogs “go” on my grass.

My 3 year old son plays out there....

What's the city ordinances concerning picking up after dogs???

Do I need to contact the county health department to get involved ?

The ordinances can be found on this previous thread.  I do believe it is addressed in there.

Nope. Just invest in a pooper scooper. Scoop each night and pile it in a single spot on their yard. The single spot is key. We are not trying to start a poop war here, just a simple reminder of just how much poop 3 dogs leave behind in your child's play area. A little work on your part could make a very large stinky statement  8)

Just  a simple reminder of how it stinks when things pile up  ;D

We have the pooper scooper that looks like a big claw, which also makes a fantastic poo slinger in case a war does occur.  (Don't ask me how I know this.)

I'd pile it on their doorstep.  Subtlety is lost on some.

when i walk my dogs i carry bags and paper towels, and hand santizer for myself, i always throw the bag away in my trash can if my dogs do go potty, i also try and get them to an empty lot to do this...not once have my dogs pooped in someones yard, and never will...its simple respect for others property...and sucha easy fix...

Stl Duchess - I like your style. You are the type of dog owner everyone should have as a neighbor.

We used to live in McKinney and I caught one neighbor allowing his dog to do business on my yard - I approached him about it and was flipped off and rudely gestured at. I was utterly amazed at that behavior - don't people realize how rudely they behave? And what is wrong with carrying a baggie and cleaning your neighbor's yard to keep the peace?

I don't think picking up the poo is about keeping the peace, it's about common decency.  Seriously, if I wanted dog poo in my yard I would stop picking it up every day in my back yard where my dogs do their business.

I guess a lot of it probably comes from people not knowing their neighbors, so they don't care about them by extension.  We really don't have an issue with that here, everyone I see walking their dog has always been super respectful.

Awesome! One of the new additions to the AKC puppy star test and owner responsibilty. Any breed or mixed breed can get this certificate, we had fun doing it. Anyway, they make sure the owner carries bags and check at each class. I thought it was neat.

There is a guy that walks his dog in our neighborhood everyday, twice...he doesnt even live over here!! I guess he doesnt want to pick up poop in his yard, so he comes over to the acre lots thinking we wont mind. I have the acre for my kids and I scoop the back and FRONT! all of the acre, and he cant do his normal sized lot? If I can ever get out there fast enough with the baggie, I will smile and tell him it's okay that you forgot this time!

Sadly I live next to a rental house, and the new neighbors do not really care. I' bought my "pooper scooper" and I've been piling the poos on their doorstep and drive way...lol

We have a rental on one side of us and we are so lucky, they are the best renters EVER!  They have a wonderful yard, great kids, quiet dog, and are just all around great people.

I think I need to bribe them into never ever leaving...

Who at the city Do I need to talk about this?

I saw the mayor atop the double-wide City Hall the other day with a searchlight - they lit up the sky with "Anna," the pioneer woman pointing toward a known future of strict code compliance.  It wasn't fifteen minutes later the Anna Code Compliance Officer arrived in a flurry of non-denominational, sponsorship-free activity in a mask and tights.

HOT DAMN!

You got a problem?  Yo they'll solve it - check out the fine while the Anna Code Compliance Officer absolves it!
