I know that several people were considering, but was wondering if there is a list anywhere yet.

Becky Glover, Connie Stump, Molly Young, and a gentleman whose name I keep forgetting.

I am a Becky Boy!  The only other name I recognize has lost horribly in the past and has resigned from a position on something mid-term.

Oh Yes, I remember that person who resigned from a position mid term and ran several times for council and didn't make it.

1) That person resigned mid term due public slander by a certian councilman.

2)  That person was the citizen responsible for bringing beer, wine and alcohol to Anna; the person the anti alcohol citizens in Anna would not vote onto council.

That person was 100% publically slandered at a council meeting by a certain
councilman who is no longer on council.  He said that specific person was keeping businesses from coming to Anna, which was untrue, and they along with 2 others needed to be put off the planning and zoning board.

However, planning and zoning board members are only a recommendation board;
they have no actual power to legislate.  The council only has that power and does not have to take the recommdations of boards if they don't want to.

The person who resigned mid term actually voted in the interests of businesses 100% of the time, not against them.  However, the council which is the only
governing body who has the power to legislate voted against businesses on the same issues that this person voted for.

That councilman who slandered this person signed off on all documented planning and zoning minuets; which state exactly how each individual board member voted
on agenda items.  Obviously he never read the documents he signed off on or he would know that the person, who resigned due to his slandering, supported bringing businesses to Anna 100%.

Back to issue #2 ~

Again that same individual, that councilman slandered, was the only registered voter/citizen of Anna who collected signatures with Dan (who was/and is not a
citizen of Anna) for the original petition to vote beer, wine and alcohol in.  If it wasn't for that person going out and collecting signatures the pettition would not have even made it to the ballot to be voted on and passed by the citizens of Anna.

You have beer, wine and alcohol today in Anna because of that slandered person.

And, let it be known, that person is also very aware of the fact some councilmen have told the alcohol business owners in Anna that that person is a nut case and should not be supported to run for council.

Seems to me Anna wouldn't have the business tax base it has today; the tax base that is saving the city from sinking into bankruptcy right now and has stimulated other business growth; like the new grocery store, etc., if it hadn't been for that persons knowledge and insight and willingness to do what needed to be done, regardless of the personal fallout that would happen to them.

That person knew that business only sprawls up 75, city from city, as the population of cities increases.  That person knew that the City of Anna would have to create a high traffic foot print for any businesses to have a reason to skip over the City of Melissa and come to Anna ahead of city population growth.

That person knew that an alcohol foot print would bring a diverse economic foot print to Anna.  That if would bring people from many other cities here to do business and would increase the business tax base and drive the growth of other business investments here in this city.

That person saw the "NEED" to build a tax base for the ecconimic growth of this city and was willing to fall on their sword knowingly; accepting the fact that it was not a good political move for a person to make the anti alcohol people ticked off.

That person knew that they would not have a snowballs chance in hell in getting voted onto council because of the decision they made.  But, they still ran anyway.

Because previous councils were drunk with new startup money and didn't even plan for situtations like our current ecconmic changes they should be very glad this person went out and collected those signatures.

Oh, did you know that the slandered person was considering going to court
and filing slander charges on the councilman who slandered them publically and
who viloated the code of ethics he signed, but decided it wouldn't be in the cities best interest for the newspapers to publish this issue.

At this point in time the anti alcohol people are not so upset with that slandered person; as there are no drunks on the streets and the alcohol tax base is saving this city from bankruptcy and bringing in other new business services.

Something to think about, isn't it.

Why shouldn't we expect this person to stand up in the middle of a meeting and resign from all civic positions if something similar happens again?
