Parking
« on: August 05, 2009, 04:29:45 PM »
So who is the whiner that called the police to complain that cars are blocking the sidewalk?  Seriously, most houses have 3 cars now days so until these houses are built with bigger driveways the 3rd car has to go behind the other 2....get over it if you have to walk a couple of steps into the road to go around it.

wow, that sucks. is that really a police matter as opposed to city code?

agreed though that a lot of homes with teens have three cars, or work trucks. and a lot of folks park in the garage to not block anything. at least those that havent already turned them into man caves or store-all units.

Im not sure who complained...i know in previous posts I have complained about people blocking my drive way, but come on....i paid too much for the house to not be able to get into my onw damn driveway!!! However, since that post I have had no such problems....wonder if my neighbors caught sight of this forum and got a guilty concience (sp?)  ??? ;D What are your thoughts on people walking around creekside in the middle of the night, litterally in the middle of the road?  I almost hit someone around 11 pm the other night because i didn't see them when rounding a corner until my headlights were right on them!!! Im afraid someone is going to get hurt! :'(

If they are in the middle of the road run them over.  It would be one less idiot in this world.

I havent' seen anyone walking in the middle of the road but there are a ton of kids that always play in the road and never want to move for a car...makes me nervous.
I realize there is a city ordinance on blocking sidewalks but since I've had a car hit when parked on the road I'm not happy about doing it again.  I understand that some small kids ride their bikes on the sidewalks but they're prob small enough that their parent(s) are w/ them so blocked walks are a good time to teach them to stop and look before proceeding.  Plus I have a thing about being told what to do at MY house.  Silly? perhaps but we've all got something....

It wasn't me, but realize that when you block the sidewalk my small children are forced to walk in the street and I am not okay with that.  The sidewalk is public, not private property.  It doesn't belong to you and you have no business parking on it.

There have been times that it is so bad in The Falls that you can't walk down the street more than 3 houses without being pushed back out into the street by another car parked on the sidewalk.  My kids know the safety rules but that isn't all it's about.  I can't tell you how often I have nearly tipped the wagon or stroller trying to get around a car, not to mention you are often then forced out into the street until the next driveway so you don't have to tromp through a bunch of grass.

If you have three cars then one or two can go in the garage.  If you don't have room for that then I suggest cleaning the garage out or buying a bugger house.

I can guarantee you that no matter how many people complain there will always be times when you have to go out into the street....which isn't a big deal to me.  The way I see it is the sidewalk stops at the edge of my driveway.  If you want continuous sidewalks then build them at the end of driveways not where they have to intersect.

That is one stupid comment.  If they did that it would just be part of the street and then you couldn't park in front of your house on the street because you would be blocking the sidewalk.  STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK.

Crab.  You are lucky they called the HOA and not the cops.  The cops have the ability to ticket you for this, and with that attitude I certainly hope they do!

8204, you out there???
