I am running for Constable
« on: October 28, 2011, 09:25:57 PM »
Friends and Neighbors,

If you don't already know, I am running for Constable Pct.1. This area includes but not limited to Fairview,McKinney,Melissa, Anna and most of Westminister. The current Constable which I employed with (Paul Elkins) is not seeking reelection. He is retiring after this term. He is fully supporting me in his place, as did Jerry Kunkle when he retired with Elkins. I have over 12 years Law enforcement experience with over 6 of that in Constable work. I have worked all aspects of Civil and Criminal law. I  have a Intermediate Peace Officer license and am very close to recieving my Master license. I am married with 3 children. We are all memebers of the First Baptist Church of Anna.

I look forward to serving the citizens of Pct 1. I will have an open door policy in my office. If anyone wishes to speak to me on an issue  I will be glad to help if I can. Due to policy, I will not be able to give legal advice due to that will open myself and the county to a law suit. Elkins has a very experienced and professional staff and I plan on keeping everyone. I hope for the support of of the city where I live. I have already obtained individuals and businesses that have pledged support of me running. As of yet there is no other opponents that have filed. It is late in the game for anyone to file unless they are in an elected position already. Please see the write up on the following link that was published in the McKinney Courier Gazett this week on my running.

Congratulations on your announcement, and good luck with your run.

I like Paul Elkins.  On the few occasions I've met him, he's always seemed like a good guy.

If he's supporting you, then you've got my vote.

ehowton,

I don't know why it would make you nervous. I plan on getting more work from the attorneys. A lot of attorneys use private process. That work should be given to the Constables. In getting more work for our office and going papersless on warrrants this will bring in more revenue to the office.  I hope to get it back to where Pct1 Constable's office is close to or self sufficient. I know in this day and age it is hard to achieve that. But I will do my best to achieve this.

Ehowton I hope this eases your mind,

Shane

drax0r,

Thank you! Paul is a great Christian guy, great boss and friend. We have been very lucky to have him for all these years. I am glad he will be only a phone call away if I ever have a question. Just like Kunkle was for him. Again, thanks for your support.

Thank you, it does!

To elucidate my fear from your declarative statement, in the past that has meant costing me, because  no matter where you "get more money" [for the county] from (i.e. State or Federal) since I pay into both of those in the form of taxes one way or another, I always assume its going to end up costing me.

Your attempt to do so by cutting costs comes as a complete surprise!

Good luck!

Sadly, I am not allowed to vote as a foreign national, but if, you'd get my vote. By the way, the Bumbo will come to use in about seven weeks.
