Prohibitionists are overstepping legal bounds once again!
« on: November 03, 2007, 08:11:39 PM »
New flyer I saw today offering FREE HOT DOGS AND SODAS on Election Day!  It goes on to say, "Come bring your kids, eat, drink and then go across the street and vote against the legal sale of alcoholic beverages.

Before we started our campaign, we visited with Sharon Rowe, the Collin County Elections Official and asked her the do's and don'ts to ensure we would be in 100% legal compliance in everything we did.

I guess the prohibitionists forgot to check the law.

Not so surprising since they also forgot to tell the truth.

Before we printed ONE WORD we double and tripled checked ourselves to ensure we were:
  • Truthful
  • Courteous
  • Truthful
  • Not negative
  • Truthful
  • Factual
  • Truthful

I would not have had anything to do with this entire thing had TRUTH, JUSTICE, and the AMERICAN WAY not been upheld to the highest standards.

It really is hard to do things that way.  They're allowed to say anything they want, to incite fear or anger - the burden of proof is on us to debunk their myths.

And most of the people who are voting against don't care about truth anyway.  They vote their morality.

My name is Eric, and I vote to http://keepannagrowing.com

If you want, we could print up and distribute my story from back in the day when I worked at Der Weinerschnitzel and then I assure you that no one would be wanting a hot dog, or would want to go within a half a mile of a hot dog.  :-X

I haven't eaten there since I was stationed at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo.

Well, in fairness, it was nothing to do with the restaurant itself but rather an immature employee (no, it wasn't me), and that could happen anywhere.

Imagine trying to sway the vote with hot dogs. To me, they seem more of a threat than an incentive.  ;)

Maybe Deer run could do something like this.  Maybe beef steak or free taco's?

I thought as a Church, you were not able to really say what way to vote??  I thot it did something that messed up their tax free status..  Maybe not tho..  IF FBC Anna is truly not behind this & they are just allowing someone to use their parking lot or building or whatever.. I would think they should really rethink this & not allow it.

I have some more thoughts on this kind of stuff & was going to post, but decided it was way too much off topic, so I'll try & start another post..

OK, then...how can the Anna Repeal Committee be using the church for it?

It certainly gives all appearances of them sponsoring it.   >:(

That's unfortunate.  I was looking forward to free hot dogs and sodas.
