I thought this liquor vote was going to keep our taxes low.   I think you guys took advantage of me.  You still have your liquor, we got our Brookshires, and you still raised my taxes.  What gives?

School districts are not funded by sales tax.  They get funds from property taxes, state provided revenue and federal funding.

The alcohol sales have not affected our school's ability to keep up with the increased student growth.  The school board sets their own tax rates.

I was rather counting on the strip clubs, bars, and roving bands of juvenile delinquents complete with sideways caps and saggy drawers.

We can all blame our great Governor (P)Rick Perry.  He had a great idea to raise cigarette taxes (sin tax) to give Texans "Much needed property tax relief".  We have yet to see it.

Lottery Tickets?  Ann Richards?   School Tax?  Did we ever see the tax relief from that?  Personally, I don't believe a word any of them say  :-\
