Alrighty then. Here we go. An election is coming up (November 6th if you missed the billboard). Now to learn you on how to read the ballot.
The only thing on the ballot is the *start dramatic echo*
Alcohol Issue *end echo* (a.k.a., Local Option Election). And this is where it gets tricky.
You are not voting Yes or No. You are voting FOR or AGAINST.
With me so far? Ok. Now the fun part.
The issue on the ballot itself is going to read something like:
Legal sale of alcoholic beverages for off premise consumption only for prohibition.
Allow me to translate the Legislature speak:
| Legal sale of alcoholic beverages | = | You can buy Beer, Wine, and Spirits (liquor) legally. |
| for off premise consumption only | = | You buy it, they put it in a bag, you take it home. |
| for prohibition. | = | It all goes bye-bye. |
Confused yet?
So, the break down is this:
Vote FOR if you want the liquor stores to close.
Vote AGAINST if you want the liquor stores to stay open. Here endeth the public service announcement. I need a beer.
