Any new restaurants or stores coming to Anna?
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:01:30 PM »
I have not heard this discussed for a while.  Have any of you heard of any new restaurants or stores coming to Anna in the near future?

It would be nice to have some additional choices.

A new pizza place would be nice.  And it's been a while since we got a new liquor store...

It's under construction, but they got approvals to break ground like two and a half years ago.  I'm not throwing out my McK Chinese menus just yet.

Where is the Chinese place at that is under construction?  I guess I haven't paid much attention when driving around.  I am usually rushing all over the place.

Underwood Investments owns the Brookshires Corner. They also own the Celina Brookshires Property where they just built a McDonalds. I have a strong feeling they are working with McDonalds to put in their Anna location too. I know for a fact that Chicken Express (same owner as McKinney) has owned a lot next to Autozone for several years and were planning to build. I would personally invest in a Whataburger, but my credit is not near good enough for business loan for about 1.5 million !

Seeing how long it has taken them to get to the point they are at now, they obviously didn't hire "Construction Express" to build the place.

I, on the other hand, am way ahead of the game.  And will now issue the 1st obligatory cat joke related to future Asian dining facility:

"Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear your cat is missing.  Did you try calling Rice Express?"

or

"Honey, I'm pretty sure they weren't offering you ketchup."  "What were they saying then?"  "Cat Soup."

Good night everyone!
"I like to drink out of the creek and sleep near mud."

I'm thinking that since the entire lot is owned by the same owner,Rice Express will lease out the other side to someone else. That way they can have the extra income.

I talked with WB corporate several times over the years before they built one in McKinney.  I was told on more than one occasion that any new locations along the N 75 cooridor between Plano and Sherman would be corporate owned.  "We only franchise in lower growth areas, the high growth areas are reserved for corporately owned stores."

Then about 3 years later the McKinney location was built.  And it's a franchise store.  Doh!!

24x7 and with three truck stops.  Anna seems like a perfect place for a Whataburger.
