What churches do you attend (if you do) in Anna, and what made you choose them?

I go to FirstMelissa.org in Melissa. I love the message and the music. I'm trying to find a lifegroup/sunday school class that fits me.

I tried first baptist anna years ago, but stopped going when they made some changes to their staff. Never went back after that.

We go to FBC Anna.  We chose it because of the kids/youth program.  Our teen and tween have lots of friends that go there.  We wanted somewhere with lots of activities for the them.

Anna United Methodist Church

It's closest ideologically to the Presbyterian Church - which is what we know.

They have great kids programs.
People wear jeans and shorts to church if they feel like it.
Pastor Chuck is awesome.
It's closer than McKinney.
And little things like the communion bread is the same hawaiian bread that the church i grew up in served, and the first sermon we heard there was on the 'fishers of men' and RBO wears a fishers of men bracelet.
Little things that make you think "this is the right place".

We go to Fist Baptist Anna (when we go).  I work on Sundays though so it is hard.  The kids love their Awanas program and they have just gotten a new pastor so for those of you who didn't like it in the past you may want to give it another try.

Here is their website.  firstbaptistanna.org  I was just on it so I still had the page up,I am not trying to be pushy.   :)

When we go, we go to the 11:00 service.  We'll probably be there this Sunday.

Though we should have been there last Sunday praying for the dang Cowboys to win.   :o

We visited several churches in the area before choosing to join FBC Melissa.  The service is awesome, we've had some difficulty in finding a class/life group.  I guess you could say we are still looking.

On another note, I'm very involved in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) which is a national organization for moms with children ages birth thru kindergarten.  Currently, there are groups in McKinney & Sherman, but none in the immediate area.  If your church wants to reach young families, this is the ministry to start.  Let me know if anyone is interested.  You can find out more information by visiting www.mops.org

I grew up Episcopalian, have attended other churches, and have yet to find one that I feel as comfortable in as I do the Episcopal. And since there isn't one in Anna, I've been searching far and wide for one like the one I grew up in.

I may have found it in Sherman. I'm going this Sunday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Any others out there that practice "Catholic-lite"?

High Pointe Church of Christ is a non denominational church at Wilmeth Road near McKinney.  They have great youth groups, community service projects and a new minister that is about 43 years old with 2 kids starting in March.  The bible classes start a 9 and worship service starts at 10:00.  They have a kid's zone that dismisses from the auditorium so the adults can listen a little close.

My family and I attend Life Fellowship in Anna! They meet at 6pm Sunday nights at Rattan Elementary. We love it!
