I know snow is kind of fun for natives of Dallas.  I lived for several years in the upper midwest and had a lifetime of snow in a few years.  If I never see snow again, I will be a happy Texan.

I bet you laugh at us to when we anxiously tune in to the news wanting to know if our kids have school on days that the roads are iced over or there is snow on the ground. I use to live in Denver, Colorado and nothing shuts them down.

The last snowstorm I was caught in shut Denver down, and as much as I love snow, well, that sucked.

11 people, 800 sq ft house, 4 days with no electric, heat, or running water.  To top it off it was my in-laws.  I was soooo happy when the National guard could finally get in to rescue us.

I am never going to Grandma's house at Christmas again.

Well I will be the first to admit when I am wrong, so let me rephrase my statement, When I lived there the snow hardly ever shut anything down.

That must of sucked Red.

So here is my worst winter experience.

I lived in Minnesota for several years and those 5 month winters did me in.  The 2-3 feet of snow on the ground was nothing compared to the nasty cold.  One year I went back to visit my sister over the Holidays.  When I left there it took them 4 hours to de ice the plane.  The outside temperature was 29 degrees below zero.  The windchill was 87 degrees below zero.  When I got back home to the airport here, I found out that the cold had frozen and destroyed all my luggage.  My samsonite luggage (hard case) froze and had cracked from top to bottom.  My vinyl carrying bag was shredded from the cold.  My shoes, which were in that bag, came out of the luggage conveyer by themselves following my shredded bag.
