How many newspapers does this town have?
« on: August 18, 2008, 02:05:59 PM »
I've lived in Van Alstyne for most of my life. I won't say where I live now but I do reside in beautiful, sunny, Anna, Texas. Anyway, while I lived in VA I never read the Leader, which is the town newspaper there. Instead, I would just read the Morning News or the McKinney Courier-Gazette. Well, now I've noticed that Anna has like two or three papers. Is that really necessary? Not to be mean but is there that much going on in Anna that it would need multiple newspapers. Big towns like McKinney don't even have that. Just a thought.

Why so serious?

Okay, off topic I know but the "Why so serious?" tag at the bottom of every post is wearing pretty thin.  The batman movie was cool.  The Joker was played perfectly by Heath Ledger... but come on.  It was just a movie.  Not a statement to live by and certainly not something to use as your own signature line.

I'm done now.  I am ready to accept all criticism and stones to be thrown.

Stones? Who's throwing stones. Certainly not I.

I am in no way offended at your criticism of my signature line. I just have one question to ask you sir.

I won't go too in depth because I might lose you."

Oh I didn't mean "lose you" like you're an idiot.

I meant lose your friendship.

But if you'd rather engage in a cyber feud then brace yourself because this could get messy.

Cyber feud over what?  A tag line you overuse from a good movie?

Well if everyone would just leave it be then we wouldn't have these problems. I was doing just fine until you people started complaining about it.

What do you mean you people?

Tell me you didn't go watch that movie?? If you did tell me Ben Stiller didn't create yet another abomination??

From every trailer on that movie I see I just can't fathom it being an entertaining flick, regardless of the reviews.  I am of coarse judging from the outside here so I have no fact based opinion.  Would be curious to hear someone's who has seen the flick..

And on the tag line thing, it doesn't bother me, live the dream man.  That movie is the first flick in 10 years I have seen where I immediately left the theater and wanted to go right back in and watch it.  I have seen it twice and I would still like to see it again.  I can pick a lot of things in it apart that could have been done better or that are left unanswered but unless your just searching for the flaws they really go unnoticed in parallel to the reality of what was done right.

I suggested putting the quote in as a signature line simply because it is what it's for and you are a new user.  You want to type that all the time, by all means go ahead but people will give you crap for it.  So I ask: what's the point?  You don't want to go into it and lose us, and you stated lose us AKA lose our friendship, so again: what is the point?

I will also say, what is the point of ranting about it back to myself cause it really doesn't bother me ???

I think being an agent of chaos is being misunderstood here too.  I think maybe it's an agent of KAOS (pronounced chaos).  I've been looking for the voice of reason in CONTROL.  :D
