In regards to whats bad/good for us - it depends on what type of doctor you talk to.:P  The cardiologist still tells people with high cholesterol to limit eggs - but that high protien diets are generally ok.  The kidney doctor will tell you to limit protiens as it puts a strain on your kidneys etc.  Whats good for one part of the body may be bad for another!

I keep telling my dr that.  If I didn't eat the things that are giving me high cholesterol, diabetes, etc, I wouldn't get to eat anything!
I am sarcastic and have a smart ass attitude.  It's a natural defense against drama, bullshit, and stupidity...

The vaccines and the schedules changed, and our children have suffered for it. How many times do I have to say. "I WANT THE VACCINES TO BE CLEAN!!!!!!!!!"

How many times do I have to say "Diphtheria, Hepatitis(A&B), Measles, Meningococcal disease, Mumps, Pertussis, Polio, Rotavirus, Smallpox"

Those diseases kill people dead - or leave them crippled and scarred for life if they are lucky enough to survive.

I can't imagine what you think is worse than effing Polio.

Even if you do, for some reason, believe that there's a real danger here, that danger is still not worse than Smallpox.

STOP! Read This Before Vaccinating for Anything

Thank you.  I read through most of that, and skimmed the rest.  Then I read the Wikipedia article on smallpox.  Have you?

How exactly does making a vaccine clean cause you to get "Diphtheria, Hepatitis(A&B), Measles, Meningococcal disease, Mumps, Pertussis, Polio, Rotavirus, Smallpox?"
Ask me how I can help you feel your best.

It doesn't - failure to administer them leaves one exposed to contracting them.  Even if there existed a valid to believe that current vaccines were dangerous, I think a reasonable person would be willing to endure or impose all but the most heinous side-effects in order to prevent far nastier and fatal diseases.

Given that no such evidence exists, its reckless, irresponsible, and needlessly cruel to shun these life-saving inoculations.  Not only does this practice endanger the person who misses out on them, but others a well, as evidenced by the recent resurgence of maladies that had been all but stamped out in the face of the recent anti-vaccine movement.

I was going to say that intentionally foregoing vaccination was akin to not wearing a seat belt because you might break bones or cause bruising in the event of a crash.  On further reflection, however, I realized that this would not make an appropriate metaphor simply because there is actual evidence that such injuries do in fact occur.

If vaccinations worked as you believe them to, then vaccinated people would not be in danger from unvaccinated people. So by saying that there is a resurgence of these diseases, aren't you in fact showing that the vaccines do not work in the first place?

No, and I'm shocked that anyone would even try to argue the efficacy of vaccines.

Do you think its coincidental that diseases for which there are vaccinations are seeing a resurgence now that there's a hysterical anti-vaccine movement?

Unlike autism, which has undergone a significant expansion of the diagnostic criteria that accounts for an increased incidence of diagnosis in people who would not have previously been so labeled, infectious diseases are generally easy to test conclusively for and they're on the rise ever since people started taking medical advice from Ace Ventura and a Playboy model.

What a well reasoned and thoughtful retort.

I actually ran across an article on that yesterday, on ScientificAmerican.com: Kool-Aid Psychology: Realism versus Optimism

That should settle it, but of course it won't because people believe that these vaccines are dangerous, they have "faith" in it.

If I've learned anything on this thread, its that the facts are irrelevant - its all about the suspicious timing.

Well, I watched the whole thing.  Towards the end, it was stated that Jenny McCarthy said the retraction "didn't matter."  I don't know who she is, so I Googled her.

DAMN!

Now I know why everyone listens to her.  I want to believe her too.  Starting today, I'm anti-vaccine.  THANK YOU JENNY!
