Occupy Dallas
« on: November 16, 2011, 02:30:01 PM »
They report on the occupy stupidity on the news EVERY STINKIN’ DAY! So nice to see the interviewees with their purple hair, tats, Mohawks, face piercings, scraggly beards, and don’t get me started about how the boys look.

LOL, thats funny!!

But really...Don't these people have jobs or family to support???  Since they are basically living in tents there...how do they pay for food?  The most important part....where do they shower?!  I'm guessing the majority of them don't know why they are standing there and what they are yelling about!!

They are supported by donations from people who have jobs and a misguided notion that the "occupiers" are anything other than really noisy hobos.

I haven't bothered to ever find out what the Occupy thing is all about.  All I really know is there are the 99% people that want the rich 1% people to give them their money, give them jobs, pay off their debt and student loans.  Or something like that.

What a joke.  Most of the ones doing the actual occupying couldn't piece together a halfway decent summary of what they are actually doing there.  They just want to camp and get high and drunk with other people that just want to camp and get high and drunk.  Oh, and sit around and talk about how "the government" this and "the government" that.  And "the rich" this and "the rich" that.

I do or have known a handful of 1%'ers.  They earned their money.  Not with insatiable greed, a rich relative bequeathing them riches, nor a desire to crush the weak and poor.  They got their 1% on their own and they are, to a man, some of the most down-to-earth nicest people I have known.

One thing the occupy movement is doing: absolutely nothing.  Without Wall Street, we wouldn't have the standard of living that we enjoy at this time.  The highest standard of living ever especially if you include the technological and comfort advancements of our day.  Publicly traded corporations do everything they can for "The Street" in order continue to meet the expectations of investors.  That itself promotes innovation, advancement, production, efficiency, cost cutting, among many other things.

Our homes, cars, cell phones, laptops, e-readers, tablets, TV's, and so on are as good as they are because of competitive forces, as well as R.O.I. demands.

Looking at "the 1%" and wanting what they have, THAT is called greed and THAT is called coveting.  The top 10% of wage earners in the US pay something like 50%-70% of the tax burden.  Maybe more, I'm too lazy to look it up.

I don't know why I even wrote this, I don't care about the occupy movement at all other than if those folks spent that time and effort seeking employment they would find it.  the cough syrup i am taking makes me want to communicate and this is how i chose to do so apparently.

Well written, Chili.

How about that 47% of the adults in this country pay NO income nor payroll taxes. Yet they get benefits free from the govt.

Does anyone know whether there was an "Occupy" anything in Colin County? I doubt it as this is as rock solid a community as there is. Not to say there is anything wrong with protest and free speech, but we all have sh*t to do!

Well said.  You ask 10 different occupiers what the movement stands for and you will get 10 different answers.  These people are all there for different reasons stating that the government is evil, or wall street is evil, or rich people are evil, or police officers are evil, or the war in Afghanistan is evil, or the person that would not hire them is evil    etc. etc. etc.  It is the victim mentality.
