Speaking Of 455
« on: September 26, 2010, 10:41:40 AM »
Has anyone else noticed that more and more people are driving 35 on 455? Seems like everytime I go down it someone is just piddling along. Its hard to pass cause most ot it is a no pass zone. The speed limit is 55 on there not 35.

Considering I live right behind 455 and my neighbor has had their fence crashed into twice this year, I appreciate the slower speeds.  Plus there are lots of cars pulling in and out of the shopping centers and developments.  The speed limit was there before all the growth, so I am sure 10 years ago, going 55 MPH wasn't a big deal as it may be now.

Ego?  Me?  Sure.  Nonetheless, I refuse to believe that I'm the only one in Anna capable of watching for cars, finding a break, and not only safely pulling out, but also accelerating once I do.  I mean, its not brain surgery, right?

So what I want to know - what is the root cause?   What *really* is the issue.  Is it that people are rude, or just don't care?  Are they uneducated about these things?  What makes "pulling out of shopping centers and developments" so gosh durn confounding that they can't seem to not piss everyone off with the way they do it?

I am truly baffled.

Its "The Anna Pullout" I made a thread about it a while back.  It infuriates me every time.

the slower speeds on 455 are beginning to bleed out to other roads around town. It is happening everywhere now.

i love small towns. i love the slower pace of these towns. still struggling with the slower than posted speed limits though. maybe i should be on time to area events?

455 and the intersections have got way too dangerous the past few years. I will not exceed 50 mph. I will not pull out in front of anyone, but if you get behind me and want to go faster then 50, too bad and sorry about your luck.

Signal, downshift, accelerate, pass.

Problem suddenly nonexistent.

He would be very easy to find in Anna. If he is not on his bike, check the "database" and he will probably be registered.
