Hello all, new forumite but been here a while
« on: June 08, 2010, 04:08:52 PM »
Been in Anna almost 8 years now, lurked a bit here, but never joined up.  Looks like this is probably the best place to keep tabs on City Gov and my HOA.  :)   I live in one of those little square boxes in Oak Hollow.   ;D

Hi, we're moving to Oak Hollow at the end of the month. We're renting one of the "boxes" but ours is more like a rectangle, since it's deeper than a square box!
I signed the lease before my wife even saw the place and she was not happy, since we drove around and saw all the vacant lots, abandoned homes, and cars parked all over the place. But when she saw the inside of the house she seemed to be better. It was a real challenge to find a decent rental house in north Collin, Grayson counties.

I bought a house in The Falls without RBO (husband) seeing it until move in day. Guess everyone is different, but it has worked out well.  ;D

See, that's like reverse racism.  It's P.C. to have all black schools, and groups, and organizations, and so on.  But try and make a whites only high school group, and you are on the news!

Huh? Who said anything about a "whites only high school group"? All I was saying is that all marriages/relationships are different.  ???

It was an {failed} attempt at humor to show the difference between a woman buying a home before a husband sees it, and a man buying a home before a wife sees it.  It's much smoother sailing one way, as opposed to the other.

I think what we have been faced with over time, is that we know one another's wants. We have been faced with military restraints that we have to anticipate each other's needs and we trust each other to fulfill those over time. I guess that is the short explanation. It's not the same in every relationship, but we have been forced to work with the circumstances and move on.

He rented a house unseen by me in Kansas, but it's just one of those things you have to do. There is this thing called "trust". I guess that is all I can say.  ;)

I would be scared to death to rent or buy a home without the seal of approval from my better half.  SCARED!

Look at it this way... if you can rent a house you can afford and the landlord is happy, who cares.  Both sides win in the financial situation we are all in.
