There is a big difference between being proud of our troops and not respecting the people that are sending them into war for the wrong reasons.

Wrong reasons?  Ask the families of 911 victims.  Ask the families of over 100,000 murdered my Saddam Hussein.  There are casualties in war and it comes at a price.  Haven't heard of anymore attacks on American soil in the last few years?

I want you to know that a very LARGE portion of this forum has military experience, including ~j, and myself, his wife.  What about you?  Are you one of those that speaks about our military but has no sense of their sacrifices???  

Your stupid comebacks and posts with images that have little (or nothing) to do with the content show that you have no real issues to debate.  Want to know why we haven't had any more attacks on American soil, because we don't sit around twiddling our thumbs.  If we hadn't gone to war you would be one of the ones whining about that.  Some people are never happy.

I don't agree with how the war is going now.  I have a brother in law in Iraq and one on his way back.  Do I like the situation?  No.  Do I think our country has a good strategy right now? No.  Do I think you have a better one?  Hell No.  You have your vote and I have mine.  I can tell you that my vote will not be going to make a man the commander of our troops that wouldn't even salute the American flag.  Do I like McCain, not really, but sometimes the lesser of two evils must come into play...

Yep. Just what I would expect during another political season. I was waiting to see how long someone would take to bring up 9/11. So here is my comment, since you seem to want them.

Was it a tragedy? Yes. Definitely. It changed everyone's life forever. My brother was supposed to be on one of those planes out of Boston. There were several panicked HOURS before we knew he was okay. Fortunately, his business trip was canceled. A vice president for the company I worked for at the time (he was in the NY office) was in the plane that hit the Pentagon. So yes. The tragedy affected EVERYONE in this country, not just Republicans or Democrats. Not just Conservatives and Liberals.

And I find it absolutely SHAMEFUL that you would bring out that picture of the towers burning to further your own political agenda.

A NATIONAL disaster like that should have been something that brought this country together. And it did for a few brief moments.

Now it's used to denigrate and divide.

I am a very proud citizen of this country that can count among my ancestors those that helped create this country, long before the Revolutionary War. I LOVE my country. Which also means I am able to agree or disagree with those that are in power. I can be vocal about that disagreement, or I can show it at the polls. But I DO NOT and WILL NOT cloak myself in this great country's flag, crowing about superior patriotism. The flag is a symbol of freedom; it is not a blindfold for unreasoned acceptance of the government.

You should be ashamed of yourself. My Veteran Grandfathers for many generations on both my mother's and father's families would find you conduct shameful, sir. Entirely shameful.
