Welcome!

So what's with the name change anyway?  How does one go about changing the name of a subdivision, and why?

The county land records have said "settler's way" from the beginning. When police and fire are dispatched over here they are told "settler's way". Grant it right now police and fire all know that Stetson Ranch is the same, but as Anna grows it won't always remain that way. Fox and Jacobs renamed in "Stetson Ranch" but failed to change land records. In order to change records each homeowner will have to agree, sign and pay a fee to do so. The last "H.O.A." meeting we voted to make it "settler's way". The sign will be bulldozed anyway when 455 is widened so it's not worth fixing. We have almost completed dissolving our H.O.A. so that won't be an issue as well.

Hi Settler's Way...how do you go about disolving a HOA?...and why would ya'll want to do that?...Aren't you worried about  property value when people start painting their houses pink and purple?

What's wrong with pink and purple?  Now if it's purple with pink stripes and not the other way around...  well, that is just yuckie!;)

I agree. I, myself, was considering neon green stucco with blue zig zags. But then again, I'm in Tara Farms.  The Sci-Fi Ghetto.  I truly must represent.

How can you tell whether or not the house is pink with purple stripes or purple with pink stripes?

The homowners were tied of paying $240 a year for nothing. We have no pool or community center. No common areas, the front sign sits on land owned by some other developer. Yes we got the grass cut,but no flowers were ever replaced which were supposed to be done every 3 months. We have 104 lots in our small community. $240x 104 is $24,960 a year C.M.A. Management was getting from us. Our rules stated we needed 67% of signatures to dissolve. We got over 74%. next meeting, we nominated our pres. ,vice pres. , treasure. They all wanted to it dissolve as well. After they were "officially" in power, they took the floor. We voted right then to dissolve. There is alot of red legal tape involved. C.M.A. put up a fight because they want the dues but were put in their place when they realize they don't have a leg to stand on. It took guts, sweat and hard work from a few wonderfull homeowners to get the ball rolling.
