Thinking about moving to Anna
« on: March 05, 2011, 09:24:20 PM »
Hello. My husband is about to retire from 20 yrs with the Air Force and we are thinking about moving to either Anna, Allen or McKinney. We are looking for a nice, quiet, crime-free neighborhood with a really great elementary school. Any advice?

I'd move to McKinney or Allen. Better property values.

We moved from Allen to Anna last July. In Allen, we lived in the Lovejoy school district which is one of the top rated elementary, middle and high schools in the dfw area. From this forum I've heard good things about Anna schools, but we don't have any kiddos so I can only relay second hand info. Housing is another issue to consider. You might be able to snare a foreclosure in Lovejoy district but houses here in Anna are a lot cheaper from the get go. McKinney is a very convenient place but don't know about their schools. Depends on which side of town you're on? I don't think you'd go wrong on any of the three cities.

Anna Elementary schools are good.  Joe K. Bryant Elementary recently received a TEA EXEMPLARY CAMPUS rating.  I believe that is the highest rating, if I remember right.

Tax trap.  Stick with Anna.
