Mowing Lawns
« on: September 19, 2008, 11:12:43 AM »
I have lived in this subdivison for a while now.  We were one of the first houses built here.  I love my home and neighbors. But when we walk up and down the streets (all 3 of them) 75% of the homes are in need of help.  People will not mow the lawns, kill the weeds, trim the shrubs, or pick up the trash that blows into their yards.

I am not a fan of Home Owners Associations, but we as a community must do something.  I take care of the lawn and keep up a well maintained home.  It cost me approximately $5.00 per month in gas and fertiziler.

I only water once/twice a month around of the foundation to stop cracking.

So please everyone take a little pride in your home and mow your lawns.

Thank you

You don't want CAB.  He will leave you little poop patties on your lawn...  Unless'n of course you need fertilizer, then he is great!

I moved into Meadow Ridge with in the last year. I must agree with the posting from last year. There are still homes that need to have their yards trimed and weeds taken care of.  I have always felt it is a pride factor when the outside of your home is well taken care of. It is rather embrassing when people come to visit. Any suggestion on how to get our subdivision looking like it should. A place where we can all be   proud to live.

I did that with my first two houses.  I was a bit of a "Yard Nut."  After that, it gets kinda hard to get motivated.  I'm on house #4.  I really don't care anymore.

I don't understand why you can't take pride in your own yard.  Why get up in your neighbors grill about his? If you wanted to live with the stepford wives you should have chosen a subdivision with an HOA.

just my 2 cents.

Makes the wife-swapping that goes on in Pecan Grove a little dull though.

Speaking of aerating...my husband is obsessed with the yard this year.  He got him some of those aerating shoes...He's out using them right now...It could be worse.  I'm not complaining :)

Don't go thinking they are special, it happens right here in your own neighborhood!  LOL

My "Husband #2" lives right across the street.  That is his self proclaimed name since I call him for all the things I am afraid to take care of myself (SNAKES!!!) when ~j isn't around.
