Behind Brookshire's/AutoZone.  You can park in the south side of the Brookshire's Parking Lot and go across the bridge, or there is a new entrance just east of AutoZone off of 455.

Is the park open yet?  I don't feel like driving down a dirt/rock/dust road so maybe the Brookshire's parking lot is best.

Yes, the park is open. It is nothing more than a scenic walking path right now, but maybe that will change eventually. The entrance by AutoZone leads to a gravel parking lot next to what looks like an old house and tractor shed. I prefer entering at the Brookshire's parking lot.

Anyone know if you can fish in the little lake that is back there? Seems like relaxing place to kill a few hours.

There's some decent fish back there.. just a lot of water plants (not sure that it's moss, don't know what it is) to deal with.. oh yeah & watch for snakes.  Saw one leave the bank a few feet from me & head off across the water.  No idea what kind it was.

We just got our licenses and a couple rods today and some top water lures to fish that pond and we will head over to Lavon soon too.  I hate snakes so much, I'm thinking about dropping $100 on some snake proof boots.  I hate boots.  But I hate them less than I hate the thought of getting bitten by a snake.

We caught zero fish.  Had zero casts that didn't bring back a wad of moss.  Guess we will try lake Lavon.

I think it's $30 year.  It's an annual cycle that starts/ends in August I believe.

The hubby and kids have gone over there and few times and caught some decent sized fish.  Maybe it was a hook/bait/fishing depth issue?  Ask him about it, he likes to talk about fishing.  ???

Will do.  We want to get into fishing more and that pond is a perfect location!
