Best thing I ever did.  Whoever tried breaking into our house did it during the day, and since I'm usually at home with my daughter, no way am I going to not be able to protect us.  And I got a great deal on a Remmington 20ga at Walmart (after going to many stores).

Lol for sure! The kneecap maneuver was always my favorite tactic while playing Resident Evil..take em out via the kneecaps, then shoot them in the head, works everytime!

Forget that, I am a good shot.  No need to mess with their kneecaps when they aren't going to have face.

You shoot for one reason. Remember they know where you live.

It depends on if it's a sudden thing, which calls for the head, or if someone has had enough time and really pissed me off, then it starts with the knees, wait a few minutes, then the groin, wait a few minutes, then the chest, and if they're still breathing, the head. :)

Not that I'm a vengeful person or anything...

I have an alarm system on my house.  I have my monitored through suddenlink, it costs like $17 a month, best money ever spent. I also own a gun and a concealed handgun license, not that I am paranoid or anything. Just a New York thing I guess. Since this is considered a bedroom community.  Very suburban, thieves are known for hitting these areas.  They think that most people aren't home.  Funny how this started right around the time that people came around trying to sell meat from a refrigerated truck.

I would strongly advise against trying to shoot at someone's legs - if the situation is serious enough that it justifies you pulling the trigger, put two rounds into the area you're most likely to hit and most likely to stop the assailant -- the middle of his torso.

My shotgun holds two shells.  The first one is going to sting like hell, and if you don't make a hasty exit, the second one will make sure you hit the ground.  My biggest worry about shooting their legs is that they may then whip out a gun and be a quick shot.  I figure if you are in my house, I don't need time to ask you if you are planning on killing me.
