I see that, but I'd be ticked if I paid my HOA fees and then had to go spend 3x that out of pocket to rent pool space for my kid's birthday.

Understood, but the pool is there for the Home Owners in that neighborhood.. and they have paid their dues & now can't use it..  Someone having to spend 3x that somewhere else is b/c they are having a special party, not b/c they just live there.  Again, I don't live there, so doesn't bother me.. just think 50 people is a lot.

AMEN!

Now if one family had parties every weekend, that would be too much.  But a birthday party...come on.

Well, I think a good approach would be to limit the number of attendees to the party.  Like 10% of the pool capacity would be fair.  If the pool capacity is 60 people, then a "party" could consist of 6 TOTAL guests only not including any residents invited.   The policy would need to define whether those 6 guests would be on top of your 4 wrist guest wrist bands to make a total of 10 non-residents.

It's not the idea of a birthday party at the pool, but some people will always take advantage and impact residents if they do not receive strict limits.

I like the 10% much better than I would 50 people..

Jesus - none of this is going to make anyone happy.  There needs to be a fair equation, adopted by the HOA in which your dollars can cement as law:

I suggest the HOA take all requests, divide them in half off the top, multiply by the number of total residents at any given time (~10% error) then the product of the number of individuals in the requesting members family times 14% the prime rate!  Sheesh, this'll be easy.

Everybody happy now?

The max is up to 50.

In MOST cases, the party size will be much less than that, especially considering that the hosts have to feed this many people.

If it were to become a problem, I'm sure the HOA would revisit the number allowed, but so far, there have not been issues.  There was a party there a week or two ago, and residents were out there as well as the party attendees, and it was not over-crowded in the least.

No matter what number the HOA sets up, there will be people who are happy and there will be people who are not happy with it.  While it's working, it'll remain...and so far, it's working.

As for the people who would be upset to pay their dues and not be able to use the pool because of the over-crowding, THIS is exactly the reason that the pool committee and the HOA has been cracking down on the use of the pool this year.  Wanna talk about an over-crowded pool?!  That is what has been happening in the past because people seemed to think that Oak Hollow was the Anna Public Pool all of these past years.  I am part of the pool committee, and monitering last week, it was eye-opening to see Anna residents driving up to use the pool, and TRULY be surprised to learn that they could not use it if they were not residents of this subdivision!  Obviously, most people who would come use it know that they shouldn't but there really were some that had no idea...

Hopefully, as word gets out, it will become much better for the Oak Hollow residents.

You know, now that you mention it, if you charged those clueless people $250 per day to use the pool...

The approach about how many guest was taken in to consideration when considering on how many guest a party can invite.  The pool has a 254 people capacity, not that I ever want to see that many people in it.  So based on that number is how the pool committee came up with the 50 guests max rule.  Now they could have left it alone and then there could have been 3 parties of 60 people each.  Do you think any of the Oak Hollow residents not part of the parties could use their pool?  I think not!  As for the $50 deposit...... it was put in place so that we don't have 20 pizza boxes in our pool after a party.  Before the deposit no one cleaned up their party mess.  It was left for others to have to clean up.  EVERYONE that cleans up their trash and takes it with them and doesn't damage anything get their $50 back.   :o  So the money is in place to hold the parties responible for THEIR mess.

I agree that I am thrilled with the new rules and I am loving the enforcements of having the bands!!  The pool committee is doing a wonderful job!!!  I think a $50 deposit is nothing especially if you get it back after cleaning up!

I am all for this idea - we could build a second pool just for Oak Hollow residents!
