Hey WVU, did that place next to you (1310 Post Oak) ever get any renters?  I walked through the house 2 weeks ago, but decided not to take the place.

No renters yet. The rent is $1350 a month. That's high considering it was sold for around $100,000.

That rent is pretty high.  Prior to moving to Anna we rented a 4bedroom 2 bath 2 living room home in Mckinney in Stonebridge Ranch for less than that and had many amenities.

What did you pay in Stonebridge Ranch?  We like that area (though I like the country feel of Anna better).

We rented it for $1100 month but that was 2 yrs ago.  And the owner was pretty desperate to get it rented out so we were able to talk him down $200 a month.  :)

Seems like the entire Anna market has gone up a good 10-15% per month for rent across the board. Prolly doesn't help that rentals are hard to come by in Anna right now. When we first moved here April 2008, We had a few dozen rentals to choose from. I bet there isn't even 1/3 of that right now.

Here's what I found out from the property manager.  A rehab company bought the house for a low price from the bank, fixed it up, and sold it for around $132,000.  I did not want to spend $1350.  It was a nice house, but the kitchen had little counter space.  Maybe it was the rehab company that spent $100,000?

It was listed for $105,000 on realtor.com. The place needed ALOT of work. My house is worth less and my house is bigger, of course we protest our property taxes every year.

WVU, my wife has suddenly gotten interested in that property next to you again, along with another one in a different part of Anna.  She likes the yard for the kids.  Has anyone move into it yet (1310 Post Oak)?

Looks like we are going to start looking for a place again in January/February in Oak Hollow (hopefully).  We decided to wait until after the holidays.

WVU, I hope you got some good people in the 1310 Post Oak house.  I know you were concerned about it.
