KIDS IN THE STREETS!!!
« on: September 03, 2011, 01:10:30 AM »
This happens to me on a daily basis! I'm driving home, and there are kids in the streets all the damn time!! I understand kids want to play and run around! BUT some of these kids rufuse to move out of the way. They will -NOT KIDDING- stand there at look at me like  :o I don't undertand! AND then comes the matter of younger kids! I have had atleast 2 kids in the past week either on bikes or on foot run in the middle of the street....STOPING is not the problem I follow the speed limit... but I look around and I can't find a PARENT in sight!!AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY KIDS GO MISSING OR GET HIT BY CARS??? WATCH YOUR KIDS PEOPLE!!! >:( >:(
People say I'm a smart ass! Well, I am! I also like to say whats on my mind! but, that shouldn't automatically make me a b*itch!

Yeah, one of the reasons we left Oak Hollow was the behavior of the kids. Plus the parents don't care. There is a particularly bad family at the south end of OH who all look like Appalachian rejects. Their kids would play in the street constantly, and refuse to move when you drove up to them.
I hated driving up to 455 with all the parked cars on both sides, and kids darting out all the time.

What is wrong with parents today?

parents today don't parent.... and of course if you should let the parents know that the kids are in the street and not moving out of the way, and that you wanted them to know... well then it is all your fault and not the kids...boy if I ever rode my bike down the middle of the rode or didn't move out of the way and someone told my parents.... not only was my butt sore for a week ... I didn't get to ride my bike for two weeks.

What did Bob Dylan say, "the times, they are a changing'". Sigh.

The wife and I were talking about when we grew up. Outside all summer, no helmets, no child seats, no seat belts, getting our asses kicked if we did bad things, getting paddled in school, does anyone else recall "the strap", an old leather belt used to correct our behavior?

This country is going down the toilet. OK, that's a bit extreme, but I just have a lot of bad feelings about where we're at. I'm so happy that I don't have kiddos (and maybe many of you are too about me- my negativity will not add to the gene pool.) OK, pile on here.....

As a parent that is not afraid to give kids that need it a friendly "bump" when they are being rejects and refuse to move I may not give the best advice, but I say that the ones that refuse to move need to be reminded who will win the battle between body and car.  They mess everything up for the kids that DO move, like loss of basketball hoops, etc.

Of course, I am also a parent that "parents" my children.  Even if I do get called a helicopter parent by those that really should have been removed from the gene pool BEFORE they procreated...
I am sarcastic and have a smart ass attitude.  It's a natural defense against drama, bullshit, and stupidity...
