Hi everyone, we are new to Oak Hollow and love it so far, but found a scorpion in our house last night. Are these common here? :'(

Welcome to Oak Hollow.  We have never seen a scorpion around here and have been here over 8 years.

We used to have them all the time [in Texas generally],  I think fire ants overran them many years back.  Haven't seen one in ages but thought I did run across one in Anna in the last several years IIRC.  They're no threat, just a little sting if you get too close.

Welcome,

We have lived here for about 8 years now and have seen a few here and there.  I just killed one last week.  No one has been stung yet, and I just kill them and move on.  Thankfully they haven't learned how to get upstairs yet, or I just havent seen them.

SRSLY??    And to think, I've been killing my fire ants with fervor.  I think instead, I'll buy them a nice bottle of wine and take them some cake.  Anyone killin' a scorpion is welcome to stay!

Yikes! Our dog is actually the one that found it. I am horribly afraid of them  :-\

The ones in Saudi Arabia were as large as a tarantula and EFFING SCARY.  The one we kept in fact we fed tarantulas to it.

The ones in Texas are the color of carpet and quite tiny comparatively.  So yeah,  Anna scorpions?  I'd keep one as a pet.  Let it crawl on me like a spider.

We find tarantula's all the time in PG. In fact Jason was holding that one and it was a cool customer. Tarantulas' are OK in my book.

Oh I can deal with spiders, fire ants, wasps (although I'm allergic), snakes and anything mean and furry.....BUT scorpions terrify me.  :-[
