I didn't think that they could tell you what you could put in your backyard. As far as the backyard goes, it's none of thier business since NO ONE SEES IT. What about the house that put up a huge honkin stone wall that sticks out like a sore thumb? Or what about the houses who have turned half thier garages into another room? It clearly states that you are not allowed to do it, yet people who don't care do it. Not to mention that they don't get permits so that the tax appraisal office doesn't know about it so they don't have to pay taxes on it. I equate that to stealing. I for one think the split rails look nice and so does the whole yard. Why bother you when there are SEVERAL houses who don't bother weeding, mowing or edging? Recently in the news there was a lady whose house was "taken" for lack of a better word because she was behind on her HOA dues. The HOA sold the house for under $10,000. She was unable to pay because she lost her job or had gone through a divorce. HOA's can be a good thing when done correctly, but around here it's just plain scary.

Hey frustrated....You've been looking good out there on your John Deer tactor cutting that plush green field.  Your farm is looking pretty empty, where did the cows go?  I did see a brindle and white cow the other day being rounded up by that flashy red border collie, she works them great.  Did you take them to the market for sale?  Well guess I'll see ya on the farm friday. "Green acres is the place for me, ridding high on my tractor seat" ;) ;D :-*

I read the CCR the other day...since we are new and believe it or not the stone fence is allowed. No its not my house...but I do think its a bit over the top.

I kinda like the stone fence. Wood fences are nice.....until they become weathered, rotted out and begin to collapse at the first good wind gust. By no means am I suggesting everyone should switch to stone fences. That would be a costly endeavor for most of us to be sure. However, it just seems to me that, unless you want to go the extra dollar for metal posts and quality treated wood, the basic wood fences are nothing more than a cash cow for the fence builders.

I run by you 3-5x/wk and I just noticed it yesterday. Mad observation skillz  :P

I think it's fine. I wouldn't do it to mine, but I wouldn't be upset if my neighbor did. I'm still irritated that my neighbor has lit CHRISTMAS lights on her shrubs!

Sorry you're having a hard time w/it though!

Maybe she was just a little early getting ready for Christmas in July?

Okay, it's not really a stone fence, but a huge 10ft high stone wall. It looks like the kind of wall you would see at a medevil castle or an old fort. It kinda sticks out and doesn't blend in. We have just gotten used to it. At least they keep their yard up.

Maybe...Christmas in July 2006, because they've been up at least that long!

If Anna is celebrating July 4th on July 10th this year, it actually might be some kind of city theme.  LOL
