Pool Committee
« on: May 30, 2010, 05:28:58 PM »
Is there a pool committee this year?  I would like to schedule a party at the pool but don't know who to contact.  I have left a message with our lovely HOA but haven't gotten a response.  So do we schedule a pool party and get the extra wristbands or do we just show up with our party and no extra wristbands??  :-\

Hi, yes there is a pool committee. I am a member but have not been told of any new rules or regulations for this year. My name is Lisa and I can be reached at 214-551-6409. I will be more than happy to help you. I will also call Dawn with HOA to make sure this is still ok. I don't think it should be a problem however,

Thanks,
       Lisa

I was wondering if anyone knows what the age is that a kid or teenager can be at the pool without a parent?  Or if they are not allowed without a parent?
Thanks,

i think they have to be 13 or maybe even 15. seems several have been there already waaay under that age. or i am getting old and everyone looks way younger than i recall kids looking.

Why were there police there yesterday? ALREADY?!

We're not going to the pool until we get back from vacation. Hopefully by then some of the "new" will have worn off!

there were some kids boxing.  Some say it was fun play some say it wasn't.  I dont know.  I DO know it was crazy crowded with LOTS of teenagers.  Some lived there some did not.  We had one parent try to say something and another parent defend them (the kids)  I am hoping in time, it will die down (the crowds that is)

Don't count on it. I don't think that there is any way that they can keep the "unwanted" teenagers out.

What pisses me off is the destruction and disregard for everyone else trying to SWIM and stay cool in the freaking heat.  >:( WTH is with the vandalism?

Vandalism = bored teenagers with parents who don't give a * think " hey wouldn't it be fun to tear up some pool chairs and throw them in the pool! I won't have to pay for it!"

We went this afternoon and it was a little crowded, but not as bad as last weekend. The signs at the pool say you must be 14 to be there without an adult.

Most people and kids ignore the signs. I have been there and seen several young kids under 14 without adult supervision. I have seen people drinking and getting drunk. No one ever does anything about it. I am tired of complaining and probably won't use the pool this year. I mean really, who enforces things because I never see anyone enforce anything. I have called the cops when someone came in that didn't live there (some teenagers) and reported them as tresspassing. The officer made them leave. This was before bracelets and key cards.

I have seen people try to enforce the rules just to be yelled at by teenagers and other adults.  Its truly ashame.  When it gets too rowdy, we just leave.  The best time to go is in morning.

...and on this forum too.

People want the pool nice and maintained, but heaven forbid someone actually try to enforce the rules and they are ripped apart over here. Can't win for losing!
