LOL..  why would anyone sign up for that   ???

Uptime is sometimes more important than speed or price.

Even the fastest provider is FAIL when its not up.

I could re-write your example below with the uptimes I experienced with Suddenlink and everyone would say, "LOL. why would anyone sign up for Suddenlink ???"

Suddenlink has been up for like 2 years.  Your lack of commitment to a service provider has resulted in you shit-talking the finest internet provider in town.

Yeah, you had a bad cable or something.  Let's move past it.

Uptime is a valid reason for choosing an internet provider regardless of my own experiences and should be equally weighed with the speed and price.

The question was "why would..." and my answer remains.

I'm sorry if the empirical example caused you to lose sight of the moral; I'll attempt to be more ambiguous next time.

This is like advising someone not to use Linux because you have to manually build every package by hand and often had to tweak libraries and source code to get stuff to work.  That kind of thing may have been true at one point, but if its 2010 and you're still telling people that, then you're just talking out your ass.

That was my point.

Did somebody's wheaties get soggy today? Pfft... lol  ;D

He's dragging his butt on theming out the new forum site, so I'm taking it out on him here.

Eventually.  Maybe.

Eventually.  Maybe.

The operating system we're migrating to has its strengths.

And by the very nature of those strenghts...

Limitations.

None of which have anything to do with modifying PHP and images to be a different color.  Did you not get the messages about the fact that I've got a new running VPS so we don't need to wait for you to reload yours?

I'm going to start sending stuff to your work email again.  It may take you a while to get it, but you do eventually get it.
