Annual HOA Meeting
« on: February 28, 2008, 07:50:52 PM »
The Pecan Grove Annual HOA Meeting was a rousing success with a great turnout.  Ms. Avlos introducing herself, however, was like throwing meat to a pack of hungry wolves.

Needless to say, very lively discussions ensued.

For those who were interested, our new builder is John and he can be reached at 817-825+7332.

It was nice meeting new people.  Maybe next time we could have a beer mixer???

Sounds more like it is going to be 10 years, my oldest child will be leaving the nest by the time we get anything done here.

It still astounds us that they want us to PAY them to send us nasty letters. So, did John say anything about how soon they will clean up the vacant lots to keep our children safe?
Ask me how I can help you feel your best.

He wasn't there (as he's not actually in the HOA), and Pam said they were not going to "clean up" the lots.  Rather, they will remove visible trash.  None of her action items had a suspense.

Ahhhh, sorry, I thought he was there and then Pam could have directed the question over to him. Sometimes you gotta put people on the spot.

Check your HOA By-Laws. The homebuilders must keep the lots free from piles of materials, debris, and mowed on a regular basis. Your association can also vote to terminate Lone Star with a majority vote, regardless of homeowner or developer control. Start with a petition to call for a meeting and vote to terminate your management company. Have another one ready to step in that can help you with the details.
You should also be aware of any major repairs your community property needs. Have them repaired before transisiton to homeowner control. There is no warranty and the developer will leave it for the first board. We did not feel that Lone Star was serving the best interests of the HOA, and are pleased with the new company.
