Descension
« on: July 21, 2008, 09:11:07 PM »
And the 8th trump sounded and every resident of Pecan Grove descended upon the City Council and they horse they rode in on was named Pam Avlos.

Apparently the developer of Pecan Grove fired Lonestar Management, and she will be relieved of duty effective July 31st.  Relieved to whom, exactly?  No one knows.  All our HOA dues will go to the developer as we await a new management company.

Our pool has been closed by the health inspector, and is currently a shade of nuclear waste.

The people of Pecan Grove would like to speak about these things tomorrow night.  Looks like you're going to have a full house guys.

Um, just curious, but what is the City Council going to be able to do for you?

There is a 6000-gallon vat of bubbling dysentery in the City of Anna.

Then they may just come pump it dry.  That's would be the easiest solution from the city's standpoint.  But they would first have to fine the HOA and go thru proper procedures before they could go onto private property and pump it.  Now, my question is, who is going to pay the fine?  That would be you as part owner/member of the HOA.

Are you sure getting the city involved in this is the best recourse?  They've got better things to be doing, like selecting color schemes for the new trash service.

Sure I'd like to not invovle the City!  The Management Company wants the Developer to do it, the Developer wants the Management Company to do it. These people aren't able to decide for themselves, apparently and their hand needs to be forced - we've lost our HOA dues to the developer anyway, and a dry, empty pool is better than a 6000-gallon vat of bubbling dysentery don't you think?

Tell me Fred, what would you suggest?  Because I'll take any advice I can get.

If it takes a fine to the responsible party to make sure no one gets sick or injured, then that is what should be done. We care about our families & our neighborhood, so it is important to let the parties know that we will not sit back and watch things go down hill.

Your dues should follow you from the developer to the new management company.  Call your developer and raise hell.  Threaten a lawsuit, tell them you are going to go to City Council, but I don't think I would go just yet.  You could start something that you really don't want your HOA (and your money) to have to deal with.

May I suggest Real Manage for your new company?  They have been very responsive to our needs (and there have been many following Lonestar's management) over here in The Falls.  Don't let newspaper articles about crazy loons affect your judgment, and I won't get started on the details of that situation.  All I can say is if you won't say your own name you are out to do nothing but stir the pot.

The city can illicit a response without issuing fines.  Generally fines are a last resort.

If you chose not to involve the city just yet, I would suggest dropping by Home Depot or Lowes and picking up some mosquito larvicide.  Put it in the pool to prevent the mosquitos from getting out of control.  The stuff won't hurt the plumbing when whoever starts to run the pool again and is non toxic.

We've been locked out of the pool.  We can no longer gain access to it.

Surely, we've got someone with a good pitching arm out here. Are these chemicals available in tablet form?

Suppository only.  Which may or may not also require a 'good pitching arm.'

Yep, they sure are!  You can get them at about any pond supply store and I think Home Depot and Lowes carry them seasonally.
