went on a trip to NM about 10 years ago, from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to Taos and back. Saw geological and man-made sites you won't see anywhere else on the planet. Truly unique.

E - I can't tell by your picture, but did that statue of St. Francis have a skull at his feet (especially on top of a book?)
Ask me how I can help you feel your best.

Dunno.  I just checked and that was the only picture he was in.

Scratch that - I found one:  NO SKULL.  But he is holding one on some etched wooden doors on an adjacent structure.

If you google pics of statues of him (especially in Europe), you'll see him holding a skull, with a skull at his feet or on a desk in front of him in several famous portraits. The skull is many times on top of a stack of books or one book, and it symbolizes our knowledge and humanity - it IS where we hold our knowledge. Too many times, people assume that the skull just represents death or the macabre.
