Fred,  I was going to suggest that but I checked it first.  Unfortunately it hasn't been updated in forever...

You had the same light bulb I did.  My point exactly.  If they'd put updates there, we wouldn't have people wondering what the heck is going on.

No, they got several bids for the pond project from what I understand.

I am beginning to have several issues with the mail service in Anna (although the meeting thing may have been hand delivered, I honestly don't remember).  Our check cards and several magazines have recently not been delivered.  Anyone else having problems?

Actually there is something I would like to spout off about because I AM informed because I was at the HOA meeting. Why was I there? NOT because I got a letter in the mailbox...I was there because someone was told about it and happened to tell me. None of my neighbors got the letter either, our section must have been missed.

At the meeting someone asked the direct question "How many bids did we get?  The answer after quite a bit of runaround came down to ONE..thats right...we got ONE bid! So correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a bid used to get the best pricing? How can you do that with only one? So in fact CAB was correct in saying that we only got one.

To be fair, we might also want to know how many companies were offered the chance to bid.

The way I think it works is you notify as many as you can that you are accepting bids, and interested parties submit a bid.

If we only got one bid, that may mean that only one company was interested.

That may be what happened because I know more than one company was contacted...

Then the board has a responsibility to let the homeowners know what exactly is going on in the process. If we are paying our money we should know exactally how that money is being spent...down to the bids and the penny!

I have attended and voted in all the Board Meetings, it was my understanding that the last meeting was about the pool.  In my past experience, when we have gotten together for a meeting other than the yearly meeting, they have stuck to one issue (hence the last election for the board).  I have a 22 month old son and I am pregnant, I was not able to attend, but I think that there should be some way to find out what happened if you could not attend.  I do not have neighbors who care about the Falls.  The only thing that I received was new pool rules, not anything else that happened at the meeting...  There is a high and mighty attitude about people who nag and complain, this is the only meeting I have not attended.

I completely agree!  I was at home with my 2 week old the last meeting (the only one that I have missed since moving here).  I would love to know what happened during the meeting.  We got the announcement about the meeting, but it was missing the pool rules that was supposed to be attached.  We got the pool rules separately a few days later.  What were the results of the board elections?  Is there a position on the board (or even a volunteer?) that would be responsible for updating and posting the minutes on the website?  Besides being a source of information for those that already live here, it may persuade families to move here if they see there is a better sense of community in this neighborhood.  That would benefit us all by improving our property values since we would have less empty homes that are no longer maintained.  If you think of it as a "marketing" opportunity - it would help us attract interested buyers to our community in lieu of another in town.

Before anyone jumps on me for not volunteering myself, I will go ahead and state that with a newborn and the fact that I travel for a living, I can't guarantee that I would be able to go to every meeting.  Due to this fact, the information posted would be dependent on my attendance.  What's the point of having a "secretary" if that person cannot commit to attend each meeting?

My two cents...
You shouldn't say mean things about people who can't read.  You should write it instead.

It seems that possibly the best person to do those updates would be an actual board member, as they are present at all of their meetings.  I do think this is a great idea, I know that there were some "issues" with the website when we changed management companies, but it certainly seems that those should be resolved by now...
